Driving Theory Test

Good driving practice begins with good driving theory.
  • The Driving Theory Test has been carefully devised to assess a candidates general knowledge of road safety and driving regulations;
  • The test ensures that learner drivers have the knowledge and understanding they need to be able to drive safely.

For category C (LGV) and D (PCV) vocational drivers, in the future, just holding a vocational licence will not be sufficient. A new qualification for professional bus, coach and lorry drivers - the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver's CPC) - is being introduced across the European Union.
